I don’t know about you, but for as long as I can remember, I’ve enjoyed a somewhat clandestine relationship with my sleepwear.
It is by definition, comfortable fare, and generally speaking, designed to be enjoyed from within the privacy of our homes, and for limited amounts of time.
Fickle trends notwithstanding, Sleepwear x You PDAs are heavily discouraged, regardless of how much you claim to love one another. It’s heartbreaking really, which is why the other morning, I decided it was time to be free of the chains that bound me and my fleecenificant other. It was ridiculously early (you know, that nowhere time that exists before the clocks strike noon), and so naturally, I was still half asleep. Even Mickey was miffed I’d interrupted his beauty sleep.
I know what you’re thinking. Was I still so far inside dreamland that I actually picked up a floral-print scarf?
The answer is yes. What? Don’t look at me like that. Can’t you see they match my socks?
Alright, alright. I may have broken my No Florals Rule, but even in my half-asleep state, I had enough sense to balance it out with some chain necklaces.
And then… we were ready. My sleepwear and I were ready to proclaim our love from the rooftops, and we we didn’t care who knew about it. And then birds suddenly appeared.
